EDMCS: Importing Oracle Financials Cloud General Ledger Dimensions

In Oracle Enterprise Data Management Cloud Service (EDMCS), importing Financials Cloud General Ledger requires a ZIP folder that contains flat files of segment values and hierarchies. Directly importing from Oracle Financial Cloud General Ledger applications or comma-delimited (CSV) files is not possible when importing to EDMCS.

Once the Segment Value and Hierarchy files are extracted from the Oracle Financial Cloud General Ledger application, format and generate the files to a ZIP folder that contains two comma-delimited (CSV) files with the Chart of Accounts Segment Values and Hierarchies Import Template. The ZIP folder for the segment/dimension data must contain one or two comma-delimited (CSV) files with the given names:

  • The segment value set flat file must be named GlSegmentValuesInterface.csv
  • The hierarchy set flat file must be named GlSegmentHierInterface.csv

A ZIP folder will generate once the template has been completed. Import the ZIP folder to EDMCS using the following steps:

  • Applications > Action > Import

  • Drag and drop the ZIP folder or click and select the folder to load.
  • Select desired import mode from the following three options:

    • Merge – Insert or add new nodes
    • Replace – Change existing node relationship properties
    • Reset – Clear out any existing node and relationship and re-import
  • Lastly, click Import.

After the import in complete, you can verify the success by viewing the segment values and hierarchies in the Views dashboard. Segment values are a flat list of members, while the segment hierarchy will be an expendable parent/child relationship list.
