Q: How long does it take to implement an EPM application?

A: The time varies depending on the size and scope of the project. General estimates of time are:
  • FCCS – 4-7 months
  • EPBCS/PBCS – 3-5 months
  • EDMCS – 3-6 months
  • ARCS – 2-4 months

Q: What is the difference between PBCS and EPBCS applications?

If any customer is currently using PBCS/EPBCS, it will remain the same system until their license renewal time. After that time, they can request for the application to be converted to the new SKU or can keep utilizing the previous one.

The following are the maximum number of cubes that can be created in each type of license:
  • PBCS (Legacy SKU) – BSO cubes 3 and ASO cubes 4
  • EPBCS (Legacy SKU) – BSO cubes 8 and ASO cubes 5

However, EPRCS’s menus and features have been redesigned to be more accessible and easier to use than FRS. The range of charting options is wider, the editing process can be done in the same window without pop-up windows, and each individual data grid or chart can be connected to different data sources.

Q: Can I make a report using external data that is not from an Oracle application?

A: Yes, there is a tool in EPRCS that allows us to create dimensions and load the data to the system. Only one application can be created inside the EPRCS environment, but there are up to 5 models that can be created with different dimensions to load data to. Then these models can be used to create reports.
